【吳慧芬╱高雄報導】高雄市一隻十三歲膀胱癌末期的拉布拉多犬阿福，上月行經三民區一處空地，突然從草叢叼出四隻剛出生沒多久，卻沒母貓照顧的小貓，讓主人發現小貓，隨後因心臟衰竭、休克倒地經送醫急救，仍在五個小時後斷氣。獸醫師指，拉布拉多個性較溫馴，有可能是牠故意叼貓，讓小貓得以獲救。
 
曾當血狗救命危犬
飼養阿福的台灣動物緊急救援小組志工孫藝芳說，上月二十日她帶阿福出門散步，走到一處空地時，阿福突然鑽進路旁草叢，然後就接二連三，用嘴共叼了四隻尚未斷奶的幼貓，她趕緊帶小貓送醫，待小貓安頓妥當，阿福卻倒地。
孫藝芳說，阿福有膀胱癌，突倒在獸醫院立刻被抱上診療台插管急救，當時阿福已經休克，不論自己如何呼喊，心臟衰竭的阿福沒再醒來，死在診療台上。
孫藝芳表示，阿福是她九年多前，在路上發現的流浪犬，當時獸醫師研判阿福約四歲，感染心絲蟲與出血性腸炎，送醫救治三個多月才脫險，阿福康復後曾當獸醫院血狗，捐血援救嚴重貧血的病犬性命，甚至她在家中滑倒時，阿福也狂吠示警家人來救援。
 
小貓健康開放認養
此次臨死前，還拖著老命救出四隻幼貓，讓人非常捨不得。
